Student MasterCard credit card

Student MasterCard credit card – The Student Choice?

Is the Student MasterCard credit card the students’ first choice? The answer seems to be a resounding yes, at least if the fact and figures on the ground are anything to go by.

For one, the remarkably huge number of MasterCard credit cards for students being offered by the various vendors strongly suggests that there must be some demand for them, with one online directory showing what must be dozens of MasterCard credit cards for students on offer. Secondly, the fact that the said MasterCard credit cards for students typically have no annuals fees charged on them (which is very unlike other types of credit which are usually charged what can often turn to be quite hefty annual fees) means that anybody with some sort of legitimate studentship anywhere will be almost certain to opt for the Student MasterCard credit card when given the option of either taking it or taking an ‘ordinary’ credit card – which is typically charged the said annual fees, with absolutely no extra value to the credit card holder for the money so paid as an annual charge. Third is the fact that the MasterCard credit cards for students typically come with an easier application and approval procedure than an ‘ordinary’ credit card, whose approval is usually preluded by a deep dig into the applicant’s past, often at the applicant’s own cost. Most MasterCard credit cards for students, on the other hand, are affairs whose application is something you can get done with in a matter of less than an hour (even if you are slow at filling forms, online or otherwise), with the approval process typically taking a few days at most.

Finally, there is the even more alluring fact that the various vendors of the Student MasterCard credit card will typically charge significantly lower interest rates on the said MasterCard credit cards for students as compared to ‘ordinary’ credit cards, with the idea behind the lower interest rates on the student credit cards being to lessen the cost of credit for students who are normally people of quite modest means; since the typical college course calls for the student taking it to either resign from work or at least reduce their working hours if they are to cope with the college-work burden.
